Not even a little. Most of our students walk in having never danced before — and by the end of their first lesson, they're already moving. We start exactly where you are, every single time.
No partner needed — and no awkwardness about it either. Our lessons are designed for individuals, and our group classes and social parties are a natural way to meet other people who love to dance. Many of our closest friendships in the studio started with someone walking in alone.
We teach five families of dance: American Smooth (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot), International Standard, Latin (Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Paso Doble), American Rhythm (Swing, Mambo, Hustle), and Nightclub styles (Bachata, Argentine Tango, Nightclub Two Step). Not sure where to begin? Your intro lesson is the perfect place to find out what suits you.
Private lessons are one-on-one with your instructor — the fastest way to build technique and confidence, tailored entirely to you. Group classes are energetic and social, a great way to meet other dancers while learning fundamentals together. Many of our students do both, and the combination works beautifully.
It's a full private lesson — one-on-one with Imre or Mariam — where you'll actually dance. Not a tour, not a sales presentation. Just a real lesson at a special introductory price, so you can experience what Mi Fiesta is like before you commit to anything.
Most students feel comfortable at a social dance party within a few weeks. For a wedding first dance, we typically need six to eight sessions — though couples who start earlier always feel more at ease. We work backward from your date and build a plan around it.
Comfortable clothes you can move in, and shoes with a smooth sole — not sneakers with thick rubber grips. Dance shoes are ideal but absolutely not required for your first visit. We'll talk you through everything before your first lesson.
We teach at two locations in MetroWest Massachusetts: our main studio at 406 Moody St, Waltham (inside TK Dance / SuperShag West), and our second location at 16 Tech Circle, Natick (inside Sabor Dance Studio). Both are easily accessible from Newton, Framingham, Wellesley, Needham, Watertown, Lexington, Wayland, and Sudbury.
There is no upper limit — and that's not something we say lightly. Our community includes dancers in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond, many of whom started with us as complete beginners. Dance has a way of making age feel completely irrelevant once the music starts.
That's completely fine — and honestly, it almost never happens. But the intro lesson is just that: an introduction, with no commitment attached. Try it, feel it, and decide for yourself. There's no pressure here, ever.
Smooth – Waltz · Tango · Foxtrot · Viennese Waltz
American Smooth is where elegance lives. You and your partner move together across the floor — unhurried, expressive, entirely your own. It’s the style most people picture when they close their eyes and imagine dancing. Perfect for weddings, social evenings, and anyone who wants to feel genuinely graceful.
Standard – Waltz · Tango · Foxtrot · Viennese Waltz · Quickstep
International Standard is ballroom at its most classic — precise, powerful, and quietly breathtaking to watch. The frame, the footwork, the shared intention between two people moving as one. It takes time to learn, and that’s exactly what makes it worth it.
Latin – Cha Cha · Rumba · Samba · Paso Doble · Jive
Fiery, sensual, alive. Latin dances don’t hide anything — they put the feeling right there in the movement. From the playful back-and-forth of Cha Cha to the raw drama of Paso Doble, every dance in this family has a personality all its own. You will too, once you start.
Rhythm – Rumba · Cha Cha · Swing · Bolero · Mambo
American Rhythm is all about what happens between the beats. The hip action, the timing, the groove that takes over before you even realise it. These dances are fun in a way that’s hard to explain until you feel it — and once you do, you’ll wonder what took you so long.
Nightclub Nightclub – Salsa · Hustle · Bachata
These are the dances that actually come in handy. Social, relaxed, and genuinely satisfying to know — whether you’re at a wedding, a party, or just out on a Friday night. No competition mindset, no pressure. Just good music and someone to share it with.
