Day 1: Thursday – Rhythm Dance Session & Night Club Dance

The competition kicked off on Thursday with a thrilling matinee session featuring American Rhythm dances. The energy in the ballroom was contagious, and the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as dancers from all over showcased their skills.

For MI Fiesta, the day began with a fantastic achievement! Steward and Mariam placed 4th in the prestigious “MA 4-Dance Scholarships Closed Silver C M/F American Rhythm”. This was followed by an even more impressive victory, as Steward secured 1st place in the “Gents 4-Dance Scholar Closed Silver GB Men American Rhythm”. Their technique, musicality, and flair for the dance floor were undeniable, setting the tone for the rest of the weekend.

As the evening rolled in, it was time for the Night Club dance session, which took the excitement to a whole new level. Here, Steward and Mariam showcased their versatility and passion by taking 1st place in the “Nightclub 2-Dance Championships Closed Silver C M/F Nightclub”! The dance floor came alive as they moved to the rhythms of Nightclub dance styles, impressing both the judges and audience.

Day 2: Friday – Smooth Dance Session

Friday was dedicated to the elegance of American Smooth dances. The matinee session saw Steward and Mariam once again rise to the occasion. Their smooth dancing earned them a 4th place finish in the “MA 4-Dance Scholarships Closed Silver C M/F American Smooth” category, a result that showcases their dedication to mastering this graceful dance style.

The highlight of the day came when Steward shone once again in his solo performance, taking 1st place in the “ProAm & Gents 4-Dance Scholar Closed Silver GB Men American Smooth”. The way he executed the flowing movements and intricate footwork captivated the judges, earning top honors in a highly competitive field.

Day 3: Saturday – International Ballroom & International Latin Dance Session

By Saturday, the energy was at an all-time high as the dancers prepared for the International Ballroom and Latin dance sessions. MI Fiesta’s Mariam and Steward were ready for yet another strong performance, and they did not disappoint!

The day began with them placing 1st in the “MA 5-Dance Scholarships Closed Gold C M/F International Ballroom”, an incredible achievement that showcased their versatility across multiple dance styles. Following this, Steward once again proved himself to be a champion by securing 1st place in the “Gents 4-Dance Scholar Closed Silver GB Men International Latin”. His Latin technique and rhythm were simply unmatched.

To round off the competition, Mariam and Steward placed 5th in the “MA 4-Dance Scholarships Closed Silver C M/F International Latin”. Their ability to excel in both ballroom and Latin styles is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and passion for dance.

Celebrating Success at Terra Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse

After three days of exhilarating competition, it was time to celebrate! The MI Fiesta team, along with students and teachers from Jani Dance, enjoyed a delicious meal at Terra Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse in Stamford. The lively conversation, laughter, and shared stories of the competition made the night even more special. It’s moments like these that remind us that the dance world is not just about competition but also about camaraderie, friendship, and shared passion.
